287. Kathrynne’s Sickness & Hospital Stay

Powered by RedCircle

We had a very unexpected start to 2025 and that’s why no podcast episodes have released until today! But this longer episode sharing the story of Kathrynne’s illness and hospital stay and a peek into the last few weeks will hopefully catch you back up on things!

Listen as we recount how things took a sudden turn when Kathrynne, our oldest, became seriously ill with the flu. The situation worsened when Micah, too, faced breathing problems, landing him in the ER. Jesse and I were both under the weather ourselves + tired from our 10-day trip, but we’re so grateful we felt a strong prompting to take Kathrynne into the ER twice, ultimately ending up in her being admitted to the hospital for bacterial pneumonia and the beginning stages of sepsis.

In this episode, we talk about our honest processing of that experience, share the story in personal detail from both of our perspectives, and talk about some of the important lessons we learned that I hope encourage you and are helpful!

We’ll be back to regular weekly episodes next week and can’t wait for you to hear all the interviews we have already recorded with many more to come this year!
