1. Why “The Crystal Paine Show”?
Powered by RedCircle
Welcome to the first ever episode of The Crystal Paine Show! I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am for this podcast to launch!
In fact, when I got to hear this edited episode, I could not stop smiling. Jesse (my husband) asked me why I was smiling. I didn’t even realize I was… but when I realized it, I knew it was because a big, long-time dream of mine is finally coming to pass!
I actually was inspired to start a podcast over 4 years ago when I went to the Platform Conference by Michael Hyatt. At the conference, Cliff Ravenscraft spoke about how podcasting is a valuable way to connect with your audience.
After hearing him speak, I was SOLD and I immediately wanted to go home and start a podcast. But the timing wasn’t right and there was too much on my plate.
So I’ve patiently (or impatiently!) waited until the right time finally arrived. Here we are, and I’m so excited!
My hope is that each episode of The Crystal Paine Show will serve as an inspiration to your week, a pause in your day to slow down and reflect a little, a looked-forward-to part of your weekly routine, a place where we can connect on a deeper level… and ultimately, I hope you come away from listening to each episode feeling motivated to bloom where you are planted and take intentional steps to move in the direction you are longing to go.
In This Episode, I Share:
[01:21] – What’s the “why” behind this new podcast, the Crystal Paine Show?
[03:01] – Who’s behind this podcast? If you’re not familiar with me, I give you a brief introduction, as well as share some facts and tidbits that some might not know about about me.
[05:45] – What will every episode be like? I talk about what you can expect for each episode — and introduce what our regular segments will be. (Hint: They are the segments you asked for the most!)
[07:31] – What’s saving my life? I talk about our new morning routine and being more available to my family.
[10:36] – My book pick of the week is Sacred Rest by Saundra Dalton-Smith.
[12:20] – I’m super thrilled to have on my very best friend as my first guest: my husband, Jesse! He’ll be a regular on the show and we’re going to start by sharing how we met and fell in love.
[13:33] – Jesse shares his memory of the first time that we met. I then share my own (very different) impression. (Which I’m kind of embarrassed to admit!)
[15:36] – I share how my perspective on Jesse changed over time because of watching him go through a brain tumor and his mom’s death.
[18:32] – We talk about Jesse’s second surgery and share a funny story from a note I wrote him while he was in the hospital.
[21:41] – Jesse and I talk about our late teens, Jesse’s college experiences and plans, and why we didn’t tell each other that we were falling in love.
[25:02] – I ask Jesse to share about what’s saving his life right now and what he’s reading (two questions I plan to ask all of my guests).
[28:15] – Finally, I close out the episode with a Q&A segment where I answer the question: “What would you tell your pre-married self on expectations, dreams, and desires?”
